My dad gave me back this old GPS that I gave him for his motorcycle, and I wanted to mount it semi-permanently in the Land Cruiser. That is to say I don’t want wires hanging around everywhere, looking like garbage.

So it pleased me that the wire, with the exception of the traffic update block which fits neatly behind the GPS, fits snugly between the dash and the A pillar. The only question now lies in how I’m going to supply it with power, since my only power point is home to my cell phone charger.

I’ve got this thing, but it doesn’t fit anywhere easily in the Cruiser. I could maybe mount it somewhere under the dash, or I could cut the plug off the GPS charger and hardwire it in somewhere. I want to use that power point though, even if I hardware the GPS. Maybe I’ll put that in the back, for tailgating.

Do you have a fuse box under the dashboard? Get a fuse tap, they’re super easy and safe.

You know, I sure do. That’s an excellent idea, I’m going to do that.

I’m legitimately angry at myself for not thinking of it, but that’s why I come to Oppo.
